CASE STUDY
KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
OVERVIEW
This project involves the transformation of a primary urban corridor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, delivered under the Urban Spine Program (USP). The initiative redefines the corridor from a mobility-focused asset into an integrated urban spine that combines transportation, development, and placemaking.
Our masterplanning team provides the strategic framework to align infrastructure investment with land use intensification, unlocking mixed-use development potential and enhancing connectivity, livability, and public realm quality. Through a phased and coordinated approach, the project enables long-term value creation, supports sustainable urban growth, and contributes to national development objectives.
In this project, our combined ERA co-holistic approach enabled us to advise the client across multiple layers of the city’s development. We guided them on placemaking strategies to activate public spaces, on positioning and city branding to strengthen the city’s identity, and on mobility and transport planning to ensure efficient movement throughout the urban area. Through our data analytics team, we provided evidence-based design insights, using real data to inform decisions and optimize outcomes. By integrating these aspects, we delivered actionable guidance that connects design, functionality, and strategic vision, helping the client make informed decisions for the project’s success.
